I have been a member of Berwick Viewfinders Camera Club since late 2005 and have had a great time learning from some very skilled people as well as making some fabulous friends along the way.I prefer to be out in the elements shooting landscapes, street scapes and macros, with native orchids being one of my favourites.
Fagus Glory:
Nothofagus gunnii (or Fagus for short), a deciduous beech, is a shrub or small tree endemic to the highlands of Tasmania, Australia. I have traveled to Cradle Mountain nearly every year since 2011 in autumn to capture these stunning little trees and to meet up with many other photographers from all around the country!
The Queen and her shadow:
The Queen of Sheba orchid is one of the most highly prized finds for those who have a penchant for orchid hunting, and for good reason, with their striking colours and scarcity.A trip to WA in 2023 was specifically timed to be in the Albany region when these stunning orchids were flowering, it was magical!
Silver Princess:
On a trip to WA in 2023 we stopped in at the Helms Arboretum near Esperance to look for native orchids but found a stunning display of Silver Princess gums (Eucalyptus caesia) and had to stop and capture them too!
