I am a keen member of the Berwick Viewfinders Camera Club, joining in 2017 as a complete novice. I learned that the zoom on the lens was not the focus ring, and with the guidance of many helpful people in the Club, I can now take images I am pleased with. My favourite place to be is on a beautiful beach at sunrise with my camera. I love photographing nature as well as birds and wildlife, which is very challenging.

Golden Gingko

Whilst walking around Wilson Botanical Gardens one Winter day in June 2023, I spotted one of my favourite trees in full golden colour. There was a carpet of bright yellow leaves in which young children were playing, and as I had brought my camera along, I was able to look up at the magnificent canopy above me and capture this image. This tree always makes me feel happy, as do many of the trees above the lake during Autumn.

Spiky Blue

The bright blue of this Eryngium Blue Sea Holly caught my eye on an early Summer walk in Wilson Botanical Gardens in January 2023. The bees were in abundance, gathering nectar, so I had to keep my distance when capturing the image with my macro lens. Luckily the dark background made the blue even more eye-catching. Blue is my favourite colour in the garden.

Delicate

During Spring in October 2024, I was looking for tiny and small flowers in my garden. Having planted a wide variety of bulbs earlier that year, there were many I had not grown previously, among them this Rose Lace Tritonia.  A very small and indeed delicate flower caught my eye after a shower of rain, and I managed to capture the raindrops with my macro lens. There is always something to photograph if you look hard enough.
