Chris Grylls
Chris commenced his photographic journey about 55 years ago using a Pentax Spotmatic SLR and shooting mainly slide film. His interest has waxed and waned over the years, but he has taken photography up in earnest since his retirement at the end of 2018 and is now a keen, dedicated Canon mirrorless shooter. A keen member of Berwick Viewfinders Camera Club for nearly 3 years, Chris is already in his second term as President. He also organises the weekly Thursday Snappers group outing for the club. |

Standing alone:
Taken at Blue Lotus Water Garden at Yarra Junction, the beauty of this single water lily flower standing all by itself appealed to me. (Canon 90D + Sigma 150mm lens) |

Artistic orchids:
These Spider orchids taken at Baluk Willam Flora Conservation Reserve were a little past their prime, so the colours were manipulated and brightened up in post-processing to give a much more interesting and colourful image, albeit a variation on the natural colours. Apple blossom:
This is an in-camera photo-stacked image, taken this way to give a much greater depth of field (ie more of the image is in sharp focus). The shot was taken at Alowyn Gardens at Yarra Glen using a Canon R7 mirrorless camera and Canon 100mm macro lens. The sophistication of modern camera technology allowed the photo to be taken handheld. |
